Where each power supply figure comes from

Reviewed 2026-07-30 against the pages this site publishes. This page explains what the power-supply calculator and the two manufacturer lists can and cannot prove.

The calculation rules and power figures were reviewed 26 July 2026.

For a complete result, continuous draw plus transient allowance plus the single margin equals the exact calculated recommendation. The purchasing answer is displayed as a whole watt, while the calculation terms retain their two-decimal precision.

For the known processor-source gap, the calculator shows no recommendation. Any power from the parts it did resolve remains an explanatory lower bound and must not be used to choose a supply.

The public list was read from manufacturer pages on 26 July 2026. It records exact model identity, rated wattage, form factor, efficiency grade, stated ATX version, stated GPU connector, modularity, fan diameter, warranty term and the manufacturer evidence for each published fact.

Every displayed specification must resolve to its linked manufacturer page and reading date. A field that the maker did not publish stays marked as not published.

Every power supply in the current list has no retail price. The site must not substitute zero, MSRP, a retailer estimate or a historical price.

The current manufacturer evidence does not provide all of the following for every row:

• total continuous output distinct from the headline wattage;
• combined +12 V amperage or wattage;
• rated operating temperature or derating behavior;
• measured voltage regulation, ripple, hold-up time or transient response;
• protection-trip test results;
• a safety-certification file or exact certification record;
• dimensions beyond the broad form factor;
• full PCIe 6-pin and 8-pin cable topology when a high-power GPU connector is recorded;
• a licensed teardown or quality judgment.

These values remain unknown at row level. The page can explain how a buyer verifies them and link to the exact manufacturer or public certification record, but it cannot label a row safe, fire-proof, well-built or tiered from the current evidence.

Form factor alone is not a complete case-fit check because the current records do not include PSU length or cable-bend clearance. Use form factor as a filter, then check the exact case and PSU dimensions at the linked manufacturer page.

The public specification list contains 156 distinct manufacturer model-and-revision records: 150 ATX and six SFX units from 16 makers. It supplies the rows on the power supply page, the downloads, global search and the site-wide catalog count. It establishes published specifications, not US retail availability or price.

A separate US ATX market-coverage reference contains 47 standard-ATX entries from four makers. It records narrower manufacturer and availability evidence and remains a reference; it is not mixed into the public specification count.

Only 17 records match exactly after manufacturer, model and revision text are normalized. Similar names do not prove identical revisions or products, so no near-name is silently merged and no source is discarded.

The public registry may be used as an external exact-model check through the Cybenetics database and its ETA efficiency-method page.

We will not download, normalize, cache, copy, re-rank or publish Cybenetics registry or CSV data until written commercial permission clears those uses. We will not copy Cybenetics marks or badges. A public page and CSV endpoint are not a commercial reuse licence.

The page may state that ETA is an efficiency program, LAMBDA is a noise program, and the public registry separates ATX 3.0 and 3.1 views because those facts are visible on the cited public pages. It must not turn those certifications into a house tier.

• No Amazon-derived price history, direct or indirect.
• No missing monetary value defaults to zero.
• No current-price claim without a cleared source that identifies the merchant, condition and retrieval time.
• No buy-versus-wait claim from this history-free page.
• No community tier-list paraphrase.
• No inferred quality tier from wattage, efficiency, ATX version, warranty, connector count or brand.
