Start with the category you are shopping for. Each page keeps the growing exact-product record separate from the longer monthly US category indexes, so a broad manufacturing measure is never presented as the price of a part.

They show how a broad category measure sits against its own recent past. They cannot tell you what one retail part cost, whether today's listing is a deal, or what its price will do next.
