A shop's price is the shop's data, and showing it needs that shop's permission. No shop has approved a price feed for this site: Rakuten Product Catalog technical approval, and the separate Newegg advertiser-feed approval, neither of which has been supplied for this property. Rather than copy prices we have no right to publish, we left them out and built the parts of the job that do not need them.

Every source we use, limit or refuse, each with the reason.

What this list covers. Consumer internal solid-state drives sold as standalone PC components that a US buyer could plausibly buy new. External drives, enterprise drives, OEM-only drives, and removable flash media are excluded. Availability reflects what the maker's own catalogue showed when we read it, which is not the same as a shop having stock.

Category context

What the public price index shows for SSDs

The closest thing to a price history we can lawfully keep is a US government index for a whole category of goods. A category can move while the exact part you want does not, which is why this is a level and never a price.

What we would need before saying a price is high or low

Saying "this is cheap right now" means comparing today's price with the same part's own recent prices. That needs our own record of one exact configuration, priced repeatedly over time. We hold 0 such records, against a published minimum of 10 across 14 days at 60% coverage.

Below any one of those, no position, trend or percentile is calculated, and none is guessed at from a shorter window. The rule and its thresholds.

The price question

How much do drives cost?

We do not publish a retail price for any part on this page. Showing a shop's price needs that shop's permission, and no shop feed has been approved for this site yet. What we can do instead is hand you to each shop's own search. Those results belong to the shop, the links carry no tracking code and earn us nothing.

Choose one row in the list above. Its next-step panel carries that exact maker and model to the manufacturer's source and to untracked shop searches. A shop may not list it, and we do not claim a current price or stock state.

Why can this site not show a price?

A shop's prices are the shop's data. Publishing them needs a licence, which usually arrives as an approved product feed. The feed we want for this category is not approved yet: Rakuten Product Catalog technical approval, and the separate Newegg advertiser-feed approval, neither of which has been supplied for this property. That is an account step for the site's owner, not something more code can solve.

Until it clears, no price is fetched at all, so nothing has been shown and nothing has been rejected on quality grounds. Every source we use, limit or refuse is listed with the reason for each.

Will you tell me whether this is a good time to buy?

No, and not because we are being careful. We built that advice, tested it against 1,252 past decisions with no hindsight, and it was wrong 60.4% of the time at three months and 74.5% at six. Worse than a coin flip is misleading rather than merely unhelpful, so the feature is switched off in code and a test keeps it off.

The full write-up, with the method and the caveat, and the direct answer for this category on will SSD prices go down.

We have no affiliate or paid relationship with any shop. If that changes, this page will say so, and it will not change what any part listing says.

Buying notes

How to choose SSDs

What these 190 listings can and cannot settle for you, with a source on every claim.

Read the buying notes, 668 words

A drive is chosen on three things in this order: does it physically fit the slot, does the slot run at the speed you are paying for, and is the capacity right. Speed ratings are the part most often oversold, so the fields that decide real behaviour are kept visible above. Prices are not published here, and the reason is a permission problem rather than a technical one.

Compare the same kind of drive

The list holds 190 internal consumer drive configurations from 13 makers, including Samsung, Western Digital, SK hynix, Kingston, Solidigm, Seagate, ADATA, Lexar, PNY, Sabrent, Silicon Power, TeamGroup and Transcend. Recorded nominal capacities run from 128 GB to 8 TB. Most rows are M.2 2280 NVMe drives on PCIe 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0, and the list also holds shorter M.2 2230 and 2242 drives and 2.5-inch SATA drives. It does not cover external, enterprise, or removable storage. Read 26 July 2026: Kingston gaming SSD catalog.

Capacity, interface, form factor, controller, NAND type, and DRAM-cache status are recorded for all 190 rows; endurance is recorded for 125. A missing field is shown as not recorded; it is not a zero, an inferior specification, or permission to assume that two similar product names use the same controller or NAND revision. Read 26 July 2026: Western Digital SN8100 datasheet and product-identity methodology, published 2026-07-26.

Decide in this order

1. Capacity: compare offers at the same usable class rather than treating a lower total price for a smaller drive as better value. The captured configurations use both decimal labels such as 1 TB and binary-sized labels such as 1024 GB, so the exact manufacturer configuration stays attached to each row. Samsung 990 PRO and Kingston gaming SSD catalogs, retrieved 26 July 2026.

2. Interface and platform fit: check the slot and interface supported by the system before paying for a higher-interface model. The list distinguishes PCIe 4.0 x4, PCIe 5.0 x4, and the dual-mode interface recorded for Samsung 990 EVO Plus. It does not contain a motherboard-compatibility verdict for your system. Samsung 990 EVO Plus launch page, retrieved 26 July 2026.

3. Sustained-use evidence: check endurance, warranty, controller, NAND revision, and workload-specific test evidence for the exact drive. Those fields are not complete in this list, and headline sequential speeds alone do not fill the gaps. Western Digital SN8100 and Kingston gaming SSD specifications, retrieved 26 July 2026.

4. Exact revision and part number: keep silent controller or NAND revisions separate when the evidence identifies them. The matching method quarantines conflicting capacity, revision, form-factor, and part-number evidence instead of merging it into a convenient price row. Product-identity methodology, published 2026-07-26.

Availability is not inferred from existence

Seventy-five of the 190 drives carry an official current availability action, 109 show as US stock not shown, and six are recorded as withdrawn by the maker. The withdrawn rows stay in the list so a discontinued product cannot quietly be counted as available. A current maker action still does not prove stock at a particular retailer. Read 26 July 2026: Solidigm P44 Pro record.

Crucial is absent because its official catalog returned a web-application-firewall block during retrieval. This list is therefore a bounded sample of what we could read from official sources, not the full US SSD market and not a market-share sample. Crucial SSD catalog, retrieval attempted 26 July 2026 and source registry, reviewed 2026-07-25.

What would make a price comparison valid

Each retained offer must preserve the same exact drive, capacity, controller and NAND revision when known, form factor, condition, merchant, source URL, and fetch time. It also needs a stable group of sources so a missing merchant cannot masquerade as a price movement. Only after the 14-day, 10-observation, and 60% coverage requirements are all satisfied can the site calculate a retrospective position within the observed window. Price per terabyte remains unavailable until an eligible price exists for the exact capacity; a missing price is never treated as zero.
