About this site

What we publish, what we will not publish, and who is answerable for it.

We publish manufacturer specifications, fit and power calculations, and lawful monthly US Bureau of Labor Statistics category indexes for CPUs, GPUs, RAM, SSDs, motherboards, and power supplies. We currently publish no retail prices or merchant offers. Every published figure includes the source and date needed to check it.

We do not forecast prices, fill missing dates, or turn a broad industry index into a price history for a specific product. We do not force an uncertain retailer listing onto a product just to increase coverage. When an offer is stale, cannot be matched safely, or is not cleared for the intended use, we exclude it and say why. The full rules are in the methodology, and the sources we use, limit, or reject are recorded in the source registry.

Per-SKU price history has not started because no approved retained source is active. If one clears, eligible observations will accumulate only from that date forward rather than presenting someone else's scraped retailer history as our own. Until a product has enough real observations and adequate coverage, we say there is not enough data to judge. We would rather publish that limit than manufacture a longer chart.

ComponentPrices is independent from the retailers and manufacturers it covers. Questions and correction reports can be sent to data@componentprices.com. A commercial relationship does not change how missing or uncertain data is handled.
