Prefer TLC for frequent large writes or when its TBW and sustained performance are materially stronger. Choose QLC for read-heavy bulk storage when the exact drive's warranty and post-cache behavior meet the workload.

TLC and QLC name how many bits each NAND cell stores. Modern controller and cache designs can narrow or reverse headline product results, so the cell type is a workload clue rather than a complete SSD ranking.

Price boundary: our manufacturer specification list identifies TLC models but no current QLC model, and it records no reusable current prices. Check the current Kingston NVMe catalog, retrieved 26 July 2026, and confirm NAND type before using a live price difference.
