AMD B850 or AMD X870

Start with the better-value B850 when the board has the ports you need. Pay for X870 when guaranteed USB4 or a guaranteed PCIe 5.0 graphics link belongs on your requirements list.

Retail pricenot publishedWhy

A shop's price is the shop's data, and showing it needs that shop's permission. No shop has approved a price feed for this site: Rakuten Product Catalog technical approval, and the separate Newegg advertiser-feed approval, neither of which has been supplied for this property. Rather than copy prices we have no right to publish, we left them out and built the parts of the job that do not need them.

Every source we use, limit or refuse, each with the reason.

What differs

3 of 7 fields differ. Both sides of every row come from a published manufacturer document, cited on the row itself, with what the difference does once the parts are in a case.

The comparison in detail

Start with the better-value B850 when the board has the ports you need. Pay for X870 when guaranteed USB4 or a guaranteed PCIe 5.0 graphics link belongs on your requirements list.

The published total lane and chipset-port ceilings are equal. X870's practical advantages are guarantees, not a different CPU, memory system, or larger general I/O budget.

Price boundary: our manufacturer specification list includes X870 model evidence but does not yet cover B850, and it contains no reusable current prices. Check the MSI US X870 listing, retrieved 26 July 2026, rather than inferring a chipset premium.
