For a non-K Core Ultra Series 2 build with a normal device count, choose B860. Choose Z890 when CPU overclocking or a specific high-expansion board is part of the build.
B860 retains DDR5 tuning, Gen5 storage, and Gen5 graphics on selected boards. Z890's durable differences are supported CPU overclocking and a larger platform lane budget.
Price boundary: our manufacturer specification list includes Z890 model evidence but does not yet cover B860, and it contains no reusable current prices. Check the current ASUS US motherboard catalog, retrieved 26 July 2026, rather than assuming the chipset label predicts the premium.
