We keep one dated daily price for an exact product when the source permits it, but a short record is not turned into a trend, valuation, or buy-or-wait answer.

The exact-product record is collecting
From 3 August 2026 to 16 September 2026, the sitewide record kept 282,640 dated prices for 9,441 exact products. The longest product series has 34 readings.
This is real first-party history, but it is still a building record. No exact product has passed all the published time, reading, and coverage floors, and the retained trailing view does not say how many collection checks should have succeeded. That is why there is no line chart, percentile, or high-or-low label yet.
The totals cover all component categories on this site. The retained view does not safely assign every older identity back to one category, so we do not describe all 9,441 products as RAM or make a category chart from them. The monthly index section below is separate and labelled as category context.

What the semiconductor index has done
The file contains 114 monthly observations from 2017-01 through 2026-06 with no missing month. The index began at 36.400, reached a retained high of 36.700 in April 2017, reached a retained low of 29.392 in August 2025, and ended at 29.695 in June 2026. The last value was 0.4% below its trailing 12-month mean of 29.829, 0.6% below June 2025, and 18.4% below January 2017. March through June 2026 are provisional. This is evidence that the broad semiconductor-manufacturing index sat close to its own recent mean in June 2026. It is not evidence that DDR4 or DDR5 retail prices were flat, and it cannot calculate the price of a particular capacity, speed, timing, or module count. The consumer backdrop has a gap
The not-seasonally-adjusted BLS index for computers, peripherals, and smart home assistants contains 113 observations from 2017-01 through 2026-06. October 2025 is absent from the retained source response and has not been interpolated. The June 2026 value was 35.406, 1.0% above its trailing 12 reported observations, 0.8% below June 2025, and 18.6% below January 2017. BLS CUUR0000SEEE01, fetched 25 July 2026.

Why the retail status remains not enough data to judge
A RAM price history must keep the exact manufacturer part number, capacity per module, module count, data rate, timings, XMP or EXPO profile, condition, merchant, and observation time. The public indexes have none of those product fields. Product-identity methodology, published 2026-07-26.
A retrospective product state requires at least 14 days, 10 usable price readings, and 60% coverage. Collection is active, but the current counts shown above have not passed those floors. The tested recommendation also remains disabled after the observation window fills. In the 2026-07-26 no-lookahead backtest, waiting was contradicted in 29 of 48 testable three-month signals, or 60.4%, and buying was contradicted in 62 of 118, or 52.5%.
