We keep 4 US government price indexes for this category, going back January 2017. They describe a whole category of goods. They are not, and cannot be turned into, the price history of one part.

A shop's price is the shop's data, and showing it needs that shop's permission. No shop has approved a price feed for this site: Rakuten Product Catalog technical approval, and the separate Newegg advertiser-feed approval, neither of which has been supplied for this property. Rather than copy prices we have no right to publish, we left them out and built the parts of the job that do not need them.

The per-part price history we do not have
A useful price history keeps the exact product: the manufacturer part number, the configuration, the condition, which shop it was, and the moment it was seen. No public index carries any of those fields, so no index can stand in for it, however much it looks like a price line on a chart.
We hold 0 such records for RAM. The record is append-only by design, which means it begins the day a shop's feed is approved, and no earlier history can be bought, borrowed or filled in afterwards. Sites that show you a two-year chart for a specific part are getting it from somewhere; the question worth asking is where, and under what permission.

The retained public files do not contain RAM-kit prices. The closest primary context is the BLS index for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, which is much broader than DRAM. What the semiconductor index has done
The file contains 114 monthly observations from 2017-01 through 2026-06 with no missing month. The index began at 36.400, reached a retained high of 36.700 in April 2017, reached a retained low of 29.392 in August 2025, and ended at 29.695 in June 2026. The last value was 0.4% below its trailing 12-month mean of 29.829, 0.6% below June 2025, and 18.4% below January 2017. March through June 2026 are provisional. This is evidence that the broad semiconductor-manufacturing index sat close to its own recent mean in June 2026. It is not evidence that DDR4 or DDR5 retail prices were flat, and it cannot calculate the price of a particular capacity, speed, timing, or module count. The consumer backdrop has a gap
The not-seasonally-adjusted BLS index for computers, peripherals, and smart home assistants contains 113 observations from 2017-01 through 2026-06. October 2025 is absent from the retained source response and has not been interpolated. The June 2026 value was 35.406, 1.0% above its trailing 12 reported observations, 0.8% below June 2025, and 18.6% below January 2017. BLS CUUR0000SEEE01, fetched 25 July 2026.

Why the retail status remains not enough data to judge
A RAM price history must keep the exact manufacturer part number, capacity per module, module count, data rate, timings, XMP or EXPO profile, condition, merchant, and observation time. The public indexes have none of those product fields. Product-identity methodology, published 2026-07-26.
Once a retention-cleared price record begins, a retrospective product state requires at least 14 days, 10 usable price readings, and 60% coverage. Until collection starts, there is no truthful completion date and no earlier retail history will be backfilled. Price-state methodology, published 2026-07-26.
The tested recommendation also remains disabled after the observation window fills. In the 2026-07-26 no-lookahead backtest, waiting was contradicted in 29 of 48 testable three-month signals, or 60.4%, and buying was contradicted in 62 of 118, or 52.5%.
